To commemorate our 6th year together, we went on a road trip to Fraser's Hills during one of the weekends.
It was a superb getaway. The road was empty, the weather was perfect, the drive was smooth and scenic... everything was just right. I cannot believe Malaysia has sceneries like these... just beautiful.
The first place we stopped by was the Paddock. I was quite excited...
But found out it was just a guided horse ride; taking the rider just one round the paddock. It'd be great if they had horse rides out on the open field/hills. That'll be awesome...
Can you spot the cat?
Next, we went to Allan's Water, hoping to take a nice boat ride... mana tau, it was also just a small area to paddle. So, we walked around the place instead.
No doubt it is a very beautiful place.
We stayed at Puncak Inn, just opposite the clock tower. It seems newly refurbished. definitely a worthwhile stay :)
The following morning, I wanted to try out the trails... so we went to Rompin Trail, supposedly a basic/easy path to walk on. It was super deep ok... and the moment I realize we had to walk ALL the way up later made me cancel the plan to pursue the trail. Heheh, we only spent 5-minutes there all in all :p
The day that we arrive at Fraser's, Boonyee kept asking me if I want to take a picture at the clock tower, since it's my first time there. I kept saying no, because I didn't want to be a typical tourist. Hmmph. The moment before we left though, I said, 'Em, let's take a picture at the clock tower'.. I gave in... LOL.
The route down to town was really enjoyable too. We stopped by Bentong to have lunch and I had the best chicken rice and siu yuk! It was really good... thinking about it makes my tummy grumble. What you're looking at is just our first plate. We ordered a second helping half way through the first plate.
After a super satisfying meal, we washed it down with a cold glass of white coffee. Bliss.
We took the Janda Baik old road back to KL. Again, the ride was just wonderful! We made a few random stops to take photos.
What a simple yet great way to spend the weekend. I enjoyed doing nothing, walking around, watching TV, eating, talking till midnight at a foreign, peaceful and cold place and most importantly making new memories like these with you. The past 6 years (and counting) has been a meaningful and sweet journey. Though we have disagreements and occasional arguments and fights, the important thing is that we both work together to make it right in the end. Together :)
