Bubu

Everyone, meet Leona's Bubu, a Shih Tzu + Terrier mix!

Bubu is a super duper active dog! Throughout the entire session, he was running and bouncing about; full of energy and full of life. Photography wise, he was such a challenge... but me likey! Bubu also helped me shed some pounds off too... man, photographing pets is such a great workout.

Leona really loves Bubu... I'm really glad I could capture this wonderful relationship between them :)

Thanks Leona and Bubu, I hope you enjoyed the session as much as I did :)

家有一老,如有一宝

I absolutely adore my grandparents. They've been there for me for 25 (going 26) years, and I've always hoped that I could one day place their great grandchild into their arms. But unless I could pop a kid out in within half a year's time, I don't think that small wish of mine will be possible. Hmm.

The other day when my grandpa was at the hospital, I asked him in hokkien, "Ah Gong, when you were young, you liked photography right?"

He said, "Yeahh"

"Now I like photography too", I told him.

He said, "Good!" and he gave me a thumbs up :)

My grandpa gave me my very first camera. And I still remember vividly the day he bought it for me. During 2005's Chinese New Year, he rang me up and told me he wants to take me shopping (he always 'ajak' my brother and I to go shopping with him, he's that cool, my Ah Gong). He brought me to Bangsar Shopping Center, and walked into a camera shop, and bought me a Canon Ixus 30.

I can't remember if I told him I wanted a camera, but knowing my Ah Gong, he just loves buying things for us spontaneously. To be very honest, my passion for photography really did start from the moment I had that Canon Ixus 30. Now that I think of it, maybe it was his way of encouraging me into photography. If it is, it worked huh Ah Gong :D

Anyway, since the pop-kid-within-6-months plan obviously wouldn't work out. My only wish now is that, when the time comes, I hope my grandparents will move on in total peace and comfort.

That's all I ask for.

On A Night Like This

Picture taken with my Sony Ericsson phone on 18 October, 2010 at Assunta Hospital Carpark

"On a night like this, I could fall in love, I could fall in love with you"

This song from Dave Barnes just strike me. Talk about randomness.

It's 1:35 in the morning and I'm wide awake. This means I've only slept for 2-3 hours.

Lately, I've been in deep, deep thoughts. So deep that sometimes, I feel as though I've left my body.

I find myself asking a lot of questions recently. Questions about myself, about my life, about my relationship, about my future, about what I want and just about everything. Questions that cannot be answered. Questions that I know will haunt me for some time. Questions that are just questions. 'Questions that are just questions'? Hmmm, I puzzle myself with my own questions sometime.

It's 1:35 in the morning and I'm wide awake. This is gonna be a long, long night.

23.10.10

Five years ago, during the night, I was sitting at the living room watching TV and feeling a lil' quesy.

I was about to attend a TT session. A CAR TT session. I didn't know what to expect, and I certainly didn't know anything about cars to begin with. To add to that, I wasn't even familiar with Subang. But something gently nudged me to go out that night. "Just have fun and embrace the unexpected", the voice told me.

Thank God the session was a very small one. Only 4-5 of us. I'd feel very out of place and intimidated if the group was any bigger. While listening to the other owners talking about the car parts and all, someone else was observing me. He eventually called me an owl because I was so quiet throughout the night. I was thinking, "I don't even know you and you're calling me an owl??!" sheesh...

That was the night I met my better half.

Life is a lil' overwhelming recently.

Times like these, I'm extra thankful that I could laugh my head off and forget all my worries when I'm with my girls and juju.

Breakfast + friends + girlfriend introducing new boyfriend + Starbucks = A memorable day.

Doggie Day Out

It was my first time visiting a pet fair, and I really enjoyed dog-watching with Wawa and Juju. Being surrounded by dogs is such a wonderful experience. I couldn't stop smiling!

There's this 5 year old dog called 'Dou Dou' which really melted my heart; he was so calm and quiet. If only dogs were allowed at home, I would have adopted him without hesistating. Free adoption? I thought I heard the lady wrongly. I really hope Dou Dou finds his forever home during the fair itself.

Anyway, here are a few images of my favorite dog breeds spotted at the fair: Dou Dou (unsure of his breed), a Saint Bernard, a German Shepherd, an Alaskan Malamute and a tiny pug (with a Maltese in the background).

Enjoy!

Charlie St. Cloud

Ever since E!News showed trailers of Charlie St. Cloud, I've been waiting patiently for the release... The day finally came, and oh.my.god. Zac Efron is simply, divine. How can anyone be that yummylicious?! *wipes mouth*

The movie really lived up to my expectations. I find the storyline beautiful (Zac Efron too, of course). Movies like this really puts you into deep thoughts: How would you feel if you were Charlie St. Cloud? What would you do if you were in his shoes? Would you continue to grief, or would you choose to let go and start living again? Should we mourn or should we celebrate the life of the deceased?

I could literally feel his pain of losing his brother Sammy. I think I would be so broken if I were to lose someone so close. Kudos to Zac Efron's performance by the way, much more matured than his previous movies. And man, I love the part when Charlie approached and kiss Tess when she was showing him her sailing route on a map. It's the way he did it, mmmmm so smooth.

All in all, it's a great movie to catch! I'll be getting the book very soon :)

HRH Nail Studio

Sereen and I hardly spoke to each other back in high school. We just knew who each other was. That's all. It's funny how life works out. Fast forward a few years later, no thanks to Facebook and social media, here we are working together on various projects. Sereen currently owns HRH Jewels and HRH Nail Studio (with the 3rd branch is on it's way!). She's what I call a text-book successful entrepreneur :)

It all started off with a photography session for HRH Jewels collection. Followed by HRH Nail Studio logo design. Followed by a series of A&P material design etc and most recently, photographing her second HRH Nail Studio branch in SS2.

It's a very cosy place so do check it out if you're interested to get your nails done professionally and beautifully. I'm going for my first ever pedicure session at her place soon, which I'm pretty excited about! I'll do a review on the experience in another post so at the meantime, do enjoy these images:
